Description
The concentration of hydrogen peroxide can be measured in volumes or percentages:
10 volumes, 3% is used both to lighten the hair slightly (tone-on-tone) and to darken it.
20 volumes, 6% is suitable both for covering gray hair and for lightening hair by up to two tones.
30 volumes, 9%. To lighten three tones above the base color.
40 volumes, 12%. It is used for high-lift hair dyes, where we want to go up more than three tones. One must be very careful when using this concentration, as it is easy to damage the hair fiber; therefore, we must check the condition of the hair beforehand and not use it on fragile or very damaged hair.
Volumes indicate the oxygen concentration in hydrogen peroxide, that is, the amount of liters of oxygen released per liter of solution.
Although the amount of product we need to prepare varies according to the amount or thickness and the length of each person's hair, in general, the following amounts are sufficient:
To dye the entire head: 120 cubic centimeters of mixture (60 cc of colorant and 60 cc of hydrogen peroxide)
To dye only the roots: 60 cubic centimeters of mixture (30 cc of colorant and 30 cc of hydrogen peroxide)
Data for dye with a recommended mix of: 1 + 1
