The action of aloe vera has been complemented in each case with other active ingredients (argan oil, rosehip oil, carrot extract, etc.) that will make each sunscreen the optimal product for the specific skin type it is intended for.

Important:

The degree of protection against UVB rays (not UVA or other types of solar radiation), known as SPF (Sun Protection Factor); is the product's ability to filter the passage of sun rays.

The SPF level indicates how many times the sunscreen increases the skin's natural defense capacity against erythema (redness).

Every skin type needs a specific level of protection. According to scientists, it is estimated that the average natural protection time for different skin types is 10 minutes, so an SPF of 50 will protect our skin for 50 x 10 minutes = 500 minutes, which is 8 hours. In other words, with one application, without submerging in water, an SPF 50 provides protection for almost 8 hours.

The protection will not last as long if we go swimming or if there is excessive sweating; therefore, it is recommended to apply the product more frequently in these or similar cases.

Other protective measures, such as hats, umbrellas, t-shirts, and avoiding peak sun hours, are just as important, if not more so!

Skin must be cared for during the first sun exposures. UVA and UVB rays are very harmful, and sunburned skin is not healthy skin, and long sun exposures between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM are not good.

The red color on the skin, or solar erythema, is primarily caused by UVB (though also partly by UVA), which is why the SPF primarily measures protection against these. Skin cancer has been attributed to UVB (although it is known that UVA is equally harmful).

b) High: 30-50

c) Moderate: 15-25

d) Low: 6-10

Apply a sufficient amount

All this, of course, with proper compliance (apply 2mg/cm2 and reapply every 2-3 hours).

For an average-sized adult, this would be equivalent to 6 dessert spoonfuls or a shot glass.

Sunscreen is not everything

Sun cream is a complement to other measures for protecting ourselves from UV rays.

Sun protection factor: the higher, the better

Any degree of sun exposure increases the risk of skin cancer to a greater or lesser extent.

A melanoma is no joke, and therefore, it is best to prevent it while we still have time.

Most of us do not strictly follow the recommended amounts and frequency of application; keeping this in mind, dermatologists generally recommend an SPF 50+.

Do not apply sunscreen to babies under 6 months old.

Before 6 months, babies still have immature skin. Sun protection creams contain chemicals (the sun filters themselves are chemicals) that could penetrate the skin and reach the baby's bloodstream.
