SPF 50 Sunscreen Stick, 25 g

It is specially designed as a protective reinforcement for the most delicate and sensitive areas, such as the nose, blemishes, scars, cheekbones, shoulders, etc.

Its advantage is its greater adhesion to the skin; it is more resistant to sweat.

Important:

The degree of protection against UVB rays (not UVA or other types of solar radiation), known as FPS (sun protection factor), also called SPF (from the English, Sun Protection Factor) or also known as IPS (sun protection index); is the product's ability to filter the passage of solar rays.

The SPF grade indicates the number of times the photoprotector increases the skin's natural defense capacity against erythema (reddening).

Each skin type requires a specific type of protection. Scientists have estimated that the average natural protection time for various skin types is 10 minutes, so an SPF of 50 will protect our skin for 50 x 10 minutes = 500 minutes, which is 8 hours. That is to say, with one application of SPF 50, without submerging ourselves in water, we are protected for almost 8 hours.

The protection will not be as long-lasting if we go swimming or if there is excessive sweating; therefore, it is recommended to apply the product more frequently in these or similar cases.

Other means of protection are just as or more important, such as hats, parasols, t-shirts, and avoiding peak sun hours!

Skin must be cared for during the first exposures to the sun. UVA and UVB rays are very harmful, and sunburned skin is not healthy skin, and long exposures to the sun between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM are not good.

The red color on the skin or solar erythema is fundamentally caused by UVB rays (although also partly by UVA), which is why the SPF primarily measures protection against them. Skin cancer has been attributed to UVB (although it is known that UVA is equally harmful).

Degrees of Protection:

a) Very high: 50+

b) High: 30-50

c) Medium: 15-25

d) Low: 6-10

Apply a sufficient amount

All of this, of course, with proper compliance (apply 2mg/cm² and reapply every 2-3 hours).

In an average-built adult, this would be equivalent to 6 dessert spoons or a shot glass.

Sunscreen is not everything

Sun protection factor: the higher, the better

Any degree of sun exposure increases the risk of skin cancer to a greater or lesser extent.

A melanoma is no joke, and therefore, it is best to prevent while we are still in time.

Most of us do not strictly follow the application amounts and frequencies, so, taking this into account, dermatologists generally recommend an SPF 50+.

Do not apply photoprotective products to babies under 6 months old

Before 6 months, babies still have immature skin. Sun protection creams contain chemicals (the sun filters themselves are chemicals) that could penetrate it and reach the babies' blood.
